Ranunculus and Icelandic Poppies in Bright Coral, Pink and Orange - Amy's Bridal Bouquet

Amy's springtime wedding at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish was filled with bright shades of pink, orange, and yellow, and romantic blossoms of Juliet garden roses, ranunculus, Iceland poppies, and fragrant hyacinth. I gathered the stems together with a mix of new and vintage silk ribbons in shades of coral. A happy bridal bouquet for a happy wedding day!

Some gorgeous beauties from the LOVELY ladies at Belathee Photography...those girls are generous, kind, and talented! This was a fun one! I fell in love with my new favorite Washington getaway: Cave B Winery. Just check out the views in these! I had fun working with my very favorite guy, Travis McBurney of True Colors Events. And Lyndsey's family? As welcoming and warm as can be. (And yes, that's a custom Luly Yang Lyndsey's rockin'. With beautiful yellow shoes. Perfection!)

(#39) Just a glimpse...

Billy Balls, Craspedia, those-little-round-yellow-thingys...whatever you call them, the little round yellow thingys seem to be a huge favorite right now.  I've been loving them for adding texture and their soft gold, not at all harsh, pop of color.  This image from Ryan Ray Photography (via Junebug's image gallery--an AWESOME resource!) shows how pretty they can be as the feature flower.  Crazy cute, huh?

Lush Spring

Andrea's bouquet

Dahlias, cymbidiums, sunset calla lilies, dendrobium orchids, crocosmia and lily grass loops from Andrea's beautiful October wedding. And besides the bouquet, the wedding also included a FANTASTIC!!! DJ (it killed me to be working instead of shakin' it) and was at my new favorite Washington getaway...Suncadia. Some go in the summer to golf; I go in the winter to watch the snow fall and sled and eat yummy food and spend three heavenly days with friends for New Year's. Consider it.

week in review (january 30 edition)

It's been forever since I've done this, but I'm curled up on the couch this afternoon and it seems like the perfect time. Yep--still putting off downloading photos! (picture above from Jordan's SF guide. Those in the know, know.)

So...Elizabeth Anne Designs featured a gorgeous wedding shot by Amy Squires, and I seem to have an overpowering attraction to colored foamy ruffles right now. I'm going to have to go buy an un-wedding dress version soon I think. The pink peonies the bride carried are the cat's pajamas.

Sunny!

The color gurus have just released the big news for 2009...bright, vibrant, sunny yellow is the expected star color of the year. Yeah for such an uplifting, cheerful and hopeful color! Mimosa (shown above) is Pantone's rendering of the perfect shade.

True to form, flowers and event decor are just following the fashion world, as yellow was huge in the spring collections that just previewed.

And for flowers? How about sleek tulips and calla lilies; "Tresor", "Kerio", and (my favorite), "Congo" roses; full, blowsy ranunculus; fabulously exotic yellow cymbidium orchids, and the sunniest of all flowers...daffodills and narcissus in the spring? I can't wait for all bright color this coming season!

black & yellow

Several black and yellow weddings have been making the blog circuit lately. I never thought I'd be so attracted to this combination, but it is so striking, bold, and chic. I thought I'd share pictures from a few favorites.
