(#40) Just a glimpse...

Love this eclectic, vintage table number idea.  Designsgirl used a sweet vintage candlestick, along with little snippets of ribbon and greenery (oh, and a bit of her lovely calligraphy too!) to make this pretty, pretty table number.  Spring is the perfect time to scour the weekend yard sales that pop up everywhere for sweet little candlesticks.

(#39) Just a glimpse...

Billy Balls, Craspedia, those-little-round-yellow-thingys...whatever you call them, the little round yellow thingys seem to be a huge favorite right now.  I've been loving them for adding texture and their soft gold, not at all harsh, pop of color.  This image from Ryan Ray Photography (via Junebug's image gallery--an AWESOME resource!) shows how pretty they can be as the feature flower.  Crazy cute, huh?

(#36) Just a glimpse...

of an oldie but a goodie.  Still love this look of petals and a path, even after all these years.  (For all you kiddies out there, picture from Martha Stewart Weddings, fall '99).

(#33) Just a glimpse...

of inspired programs. Charming paper bags full of toss petals from an even more charming wedding held on an organic farm on Cape Cod. The program order was stamped on the back. Photo from Max Wanger.

(#31) Just a glimpse...

of why I hate being on a January budget! (I'm consoling myself by guessing that since I don't have her pageboy haircut or eyeliner skills, it wouldn't look the same. But still, it's like an overpriced siren song.)

(#30) Just a glimpse...

of something I wood love to get for Christmas, though it probably will knot be happening.

(Available from Donna Wilson, who is unfortunately across the pond. The Santa at my house would find the prospect of having it shipped OVERSEAS insurmountable.) Via It's (K)not Wood, which must be added to your reader if you love faux bois as I do.

(#28) Just a glimpse...

of some sweet scholarly touches! Pictures from Jeff Wallace via Grey likes Weddings.

The only thing missing is a blackboard for the groom to write his sentences on.
"I will always be sweet when my wife comes home with new shoes.
I will always be sweet when my wife comes home with new shoes.
I will always be sweet when my wife comes home with new shoes.
I will always be sweet ......"

of the dried peas for E.J. (with tall Bells of Ireland stalks) and K.R. (with Manzanita branches "blooming" with green and burgundy cymbidiums). Hope you girls like it! AND...there are more pictures here of this beautiful wedding, including the wedding crasher shown below. At least he knew enough to match the color scheme perfectly!

(#23) Just a glimpse...

Woke up to snow this morning (yet again!), so remembered this beautifully lettered snowflake envelope I received a few months ago from Tara at Ephemera Press. Of course the card inside was typical Tara--a silly limerick, done in beautiful, elegant letterpress. Check her out if you are in the market for custom letterpress; she does exquisite work, is sweet as can be, and is creative as all get out. (Her site and blog are also just one big ol' pile of letterpress eye candy. Have fun!)

(#22) Just a glimpse...

of something a lot more fun than salad!

Michelle Rago (I know! I tend to go on and on about her) set-up a "Bouquet Bar" at the recent Brides.com Valentines Day/Empire State wedding day extravaganza. Each of the 14 brides married at the event stopped by the Bouquet Bar on their way to their wedding and Michelle created a custom design for each on the spot. How fun!

(#21) Just a glimpse...

of sherbety, frothy, fluffy bridesmaid dresses! Amorology recently featured Lexy and Jared's real wedding--and the whole thing was gorgeous. Totally loved the flowers. But REALLY loved that Lexy had each of her girls pick out a pastel vintage prom dress. The whole pile of tulle makes my heart skip a beat.

(#20) Just (another) glimpse...

of my little photo shoot bouquet, this one courtesy of the awesome Fifi over at Fifi Flowers Design Decor. She did a little painting last weekend of the photo I posted, and shared it on her blog on Monday. Thanks Fifi!!!
In other news...I just returned from a lovely weekend away with good friends, a precious baby that I just got to enjoy but wasn't responsible for, good food, beautiful weather, and fun shopping. I've been dying to see one of my favorite on-line shops, Bell'occhio, in person for years, and it did not disappoint. I found some gorgeous vintage Swiss and French ribbons that I can't wait to use on special bouquets. Another wonderful stop very close by is my favorite bakery anywhere--Tartine. Their Gruyere cheese gougeres and passion fruit cake are two of the best things I've ever eaten.

(#18) Just a glimpse....

of a LOVE PARADE!!! When you're in the biz, you see a lot of the same ideas recycled, but this one is fresh and new! What a way to CELEBRATE! Photos by the lovely Heather Gilson at One Love Photo--one of the sweetest gals in Washington State, I swear. And she's got more details and pics of this craziness here, so go check it out if you're in the mood for a grin.

(#17) Just a glimpse...

of an amazing collaboration...nature and art. And just one more reason to take care of the honey bee issue. (And really--when you're helping out by buying ICE CREAM, it's not that hard to do your part).
