If you are in the Seattle/Western Washington area, today is the release day for the new CD from The Mountain (103.7 fm). Wildflower wedding

If you didn't see the sweet photoshoot Joy Thigpen put together last week for Design*Sponge, you have to check it out. She put together tablescapes with a sunny, vintage feel full of nostalgia with the help of the lovely Amy Osaba on flowers and Chocolate Pink Cafe on the cake. If feels just like the end of summer!
More beauty here. And later this week here? Some of the pictures from this summer's weddings are starting to trickle in...I'll be sharing! Also a few before/afters of the house progress. We still have a long way to go, but it's definitely coming along!

Urban Unveiled...

coming soon! I'm so excited and honored to be included in the FANTASTIC Urban Unveiled show this October in Seattle. I've been a huge fan since the show started; I love the cocktail party vibe (ok, I really love the champagne), the beautiful venue--Benaroya Hall; the well-edited collection of vendors; and the inspiration and renewed wedding excitement I always leave with. I swear it has nothing to do with the buffets from Herban Feast, Wolfgang Puck...!

October 15 is quickly approaching so I'm busy planning my space. I feel a little pressure since it's my first time doing the show and the bar has been set pretty high. I really admire all of the other vendors involved and love how everyone goes all out to make it a fabulous event. I'm keeping my ideas secret for now, but this is the beautiful page they did for the resource guide. I love the photo of Anna and Matt, taken by Sharlane Chase.

In other news...I finally gave in. My sweet sister Kerry is in town for a week, and is trying to get me whipped into shape, recent-2009-business-degree-graduate style. You should have seen the look of horror I got when I stated that I firmly refused to get involved with Twitter. I already feel like I've sold my soul to the blogger and facebook devils, but I just gave the last piece I had left (along with my last free 30 minutes a week I suspect) to Twitter. Ugh. But here goes...

Wedding Weekend

I'm deep in the middle a of few heavenly weeks of weddings and sisters...Katie Bug is here right now and lent her incredibly artistic and hardworking hand to Helen & Pat's wedding last night; The Black Sheep gets here on Friday! She'll be bringing a new guy to Seattle for the first time, so I can't wait to get to be a tourist in my own city--it's fun to remember how great the place you live really is.

Last night might have been a very favorite wedding...I loved planning with the bride's mom for the past year and it was awesome to see it come together. Robin has such an artistic eye and great vision, and forgive my lack of modesty when I say that our little partnership made Tacoma's Union Station look fantastic. Orange embroidered silk linens played off Dale Chihuly's monarch wall, four varieties of orchids danced on tall branches in the centerpieces to fill the huge space of the rotunda, and little terrariums were filled with hand blown glass from Bedrock, Glassybaby votives everywhere, faux bois paper from the super talented Summerland Letterpress...AND I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!!!!!!!!! So heading out to the Fremont Market this morning so that I don't fall into a pit of despair...

Katie told me about a favorite inspiring photography blog based out of Birmingham. Check out this super sweet 8mm film they shot of one of their own photographer's recent weddings. SO charming!

Early morning coffee talk

I'm back to my usual vampire ways and have been up for hours catching up on paperwork, flower orders, emails, sneaking in a few blog reads, and drinking yummy coffee. (Wouldn't it be fun to be drinking it HERE? Using these pictures of Cartola in Portland as my current dining room inspiration. A winter time project though.)

I'm gathering my thoughts and doing a little positive mental imaging at the starting line of a big race...or rather a big beautiful wedding at Union Station in Tacoma this weekend, followed by a cozy nuptial celebration at DeLille Cellars on Sunday. Union Station is filled with Dale Chihuly artwork, and we're decorating in shades of orange to complement his monarch wall. I'm bringing citrus hued embroidered silk linens, glass terrariums filled with tiny Chihuly gardens, branches covered in orchids, and tiny feathered butterflies. For De Lille's sweet couple? Seed pods, berries, soft antique green hydrangea, beautiful silk ribbon.

My lovely sister is flying into town to help, and I love the excuse to sport her a ticket. She's here until Tuesday, when I'll quickly refresh the guest room for my other sister's arrival just a few days later. This might just be the best September ever!

And congratulations to Nicole and Dave...a favorite couple from this year that were married last Saturday. Now they are off to Paris, where Nicole's fabulous style will put those Parisians to shame!

In the pink

Pink lilies for a lily-lovin bride' and garden roses for her attendant. Its raining cats and dogs here as I get ready for the outdoor wedding of a favorite bride this year. Why do these things happen to good people?
