Real Weddings: Shirley & Derek

A few shots of flowers for Shirley and Derek last weekend. Their wedding was at the Lake Union Cafe, which is one of my favorite Seattle venues. Not only is the place beautiful, with three huge art deco chandeliers and leopard print chairs, but the people that run the LUC are so great to work with. I also ran into Joe Yamada, a super-talented friend from college and the DJ at my own wedding almost 10 years ago! More on Joe to come soon...

Shirley and Derek chose a palette of ivory, green and aqua. It was so fresh and bright on a cloudy Seattle day.

A couple views of the bride's bouquet, with "Akito" roses, white anemones, green berzilla berries adn cymbidium orchids, and hanging ameranthus. The second one shows the great tile and a little of the ornate gate at the entrance to the cafe.

Centerpieces of black river rock, green cymbidium orchids, and candles for sparkle.

The LUC, all dressed up for the party. I wish my photography was better so that you could see the great "screen" of candles on the stage. Its a great piece, and available from the LUC for their weddings.
The cake, from Sharon's Cakes and Catering and decorated with "Akito" roses and cymbidiums.

Beautiful floral Alexa! I love aqua as an accent with white and green flowers. I haven't had the chance to plan a wedding at the Lake Union Cafe yet. Looks great!
